Connecting Meta (Facebook & Instagram) ads
Meta ad performance connects with a read-only System User token. Here is exactly where to get it, what access to grant, and why a System User token is worth the extra step over a personal one.
What this connects, and what it does not
This connects Meta AD performance: spend, ROAS, CTR and fatigue signals for Facebook and Instagram campaigns. It needs the ads_read scope only. Vibel never changes a budget, a bid, or a campaign status on Meta.
This is a different connection from Instagram DMs or Facebook Page comments, which are their own entries in the connections catalog and power Vibel Reply and the social inbox, not ad reporting.
Get a System User token
A System User token is the one worth using: unlike a personal access token, it does not expire when someone logs out or changes their password.
- 1Go to business.facebook.com, Business Settings, Users, System Users.
- 2Add a System User (or reuse one you already have) and generate a new token for it.
- 3Pick your Meta app and grant only the ads_read scope.
- 4Under Business Settings, Accounts, Ad Accounts, assign that System User to the ad account(s) you want, with View access.
- 5Copy the ad account id from Ads Manager, top-left account dropdown: the number after act_.
Finish the connection in Vibel
- 1Open Settings > Connections and find Meta Ads.
- 2Paste the System User token and the ad account id, set the Market, then Add connection.
- 3Hit Test to confirm Vibel can read it before relying on the numbers.
- Spend and ROAS cards fall back to demo data until a real connection with real traffic lands, so an empty-looking card right after connecting is expected, not broken.
