Operating costs are your real recurring bills; cost groups set a per-SKU cost once for related variants. Together they power true contribution margin.
Operating costs: the real bills
Per-SKU estimates are guesses. Operating costs (/operating-costs) is your actual recurring spend. Enter the bills, see a year of actual cost by category, and reconcile estimated shipping against the carrier invoices.
Cost groups: set a cost once
Cost groups (/settings/cost-groups) let you set a cost for a group of related variants instead of editing them one by one. Combined with per-SKU costs in Settings > Costs, this is what feeds contribution-margin truth and velocity-aware reordering.
Good to know
- Lead time = production days + shipping or container days.
- Enter all costs in your store base currency.
