Getting started
Install the Vibel pixel
The pixel installs through the Shopify app, in two parts: a theme embed for pageviews and a web pixel for checkout and purchase. No snippet to paste.
There is no snippet to paste
An earlier version of this page described copying a tracking snippet into your theme's head tag. That is no longer how it works, and following it would leave you with a pixel that cannot see your checkout.
The pixel now installs through the Shopify app itself, in two parts. A theme app embed reports pageviews and links a shopper's sessions together. A separate web pixel reports add-to-cart, checkout started and purchase - Shopify runs that one in its own sandbox, because that is the only place able to see the checkout and thank-you pages. A snippet in your theme head physically cannot see checkout, which is why the old approach could never report a purchase.
- Connect the store under Settings, Connections.
- Open Events, and use Open theme editor on any store whose theme embed is still off.
- Press Register on all stores in the Checkout signals card.
- Confirm in Shopify under Settings, Customer events, that Vibel checkout signals is listed.
