What the Vibel pixel actually sends, in plain terms
The Vibel pixel is first-party: it runs on your storefront and reports to Vibel, not to Meta or Google. It has two separate halves, and a store needs both turned on to see purchases.
First-party, and read-only in one direction
The Vibel pixel reports to Vibel, not to any ad platform. Nothing it does sends data to Meta, Google or Pinterest, that is a completely separate, off-by-default switch covered in the conversions-sending guide.
It respects a shopper's consent choice in regions where consent is required, see the consent guide for exactly what changes when consent is declined.
Theme embed vs web pixel: the two halves
The THEME app embed reports pageviews and sets the visitor id that links a shopper's sessions together. You switch this on once in your Shopify theme editor; it is a standard Shopify theme app embed block, nothing custom to your theme's code.
The WEB PIXEL reports add-to-cart, checkout started and purchase. Shopify runs this in its own sandbox, the only place that can see the checkout and thank-you pages at all. This is Shopify's own platform rule, not something a theme embed can be configured around.
A store with only the theme embed switched on will show pageviews and nothing past that. If checkout and purchase events read zero, this is almost always why.
Confirming both are on
Open Events in the sidebar. It lists every connected store and when each last sent an event, with a direct 'Open theme editor' button for a store whose theme embed still needs flipping on, and a 'Register' button that creates the web pixel.
- A store marked 'needs re-approval' was connected before Vibel asked permission to manage web pixels; only the store owner can grant that, Vibel cannot grant it to itself.
