Connecting Google Ads
Google Ads reuses the same read-only service account as Search Console and GA4, plus one extra credential: a developer token, which Google has to approve before live spend data flows.
The one-click path
If you have not connected any Google source yet, Settings > Connections has a 'Connect with Google, one click' option covering Ads, GA4 and Search Console from a single sign-in. Checking the Ads box there still needs Google's own developer-token approval before spend data starts flowing; it is not a way around that step.
The manual path, and the usual blocker
Google Ads reuses the exact same service-account JSON key as Search Console, so if one is already connected there is no new key to create. The one genuinely extra step is a developer token, and getting it approved is the part that actually takes time, not anything on Vibel's side.
- 1In a Google Ads Manager (MCC) account, go to Tools, Setup, API Center, and apply for a developer token. New tokens start in test mode and cannot read live accounts until Google grants Basic access, which is the usual wait.
- 2In Google Cloud Console, enable the Google Ads API on the same project as your other Google connections.
- 3In Google Ads, under Admin, Access and security, Users, add the same service-account email (ending in iam.gserviceaccount.com) with Read-only access.
- 4Copy your 10-digit customer id from the top-right of Google Ads, no dashes.
- 5In Vibel's Google Ads connection field, paste your developer token, then three pipes (|||), then the same JSON key, exactly like this shape: devToken|||{the JSON}. Set the customer id and Market.
- 6Hit Test. If the developer token is not approved yet, the error Vibel shows is Google's own, so you know whether the holdup is the token or something else.
- A developer token sitting in test mode is the single most common reason Google Ads shows no spend after connecting. It is a Google approval queue, not a Vibel setting.
